The day of Jumuah and the Duas

To utilize the blessed day of Friday to the fullest, I have compiled a few useful duas and ToDo’s.

1. Read this dua before Fajr on Friday.

“Whoever recites three times on Friday morning before the Fajr prayer,

استغفر الله الذي لا اله الا هو الحي القيوم و اتوب اليه
‘Asstaghfirulah allathe lailaha ila huwa, al hiyoul qaiyoum wa atubu ilay he.’
(I ask forgiveness from Allah who is the Only God, the Living and Qayuum and repent to Him)

…Allah would forgive his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.” (Ibn Alsani)

2. Read Surah Al-Kahf which is 18th Surah in Holy Quran. This protects us from the fitnah(trial) of Dajjal from this friday till next friday.

3. Make abundant dua in the last hours of Friday.

The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

“The day of Friday has twelve hours, in which there is no Muslim slave who asks Allah for anything but He will grant it to him, so seek it in the last hour after ‘Asr.”

4. Praying between Fajr and Ishraq.

“Whoever prays the Fajr in Jama’ah (group), then remains sitting remembering Allah (Dhikr) until the sun rises, and then prays two rakhas it is as if he performed Hajj and Umrah; complete, complete, complete.” (Tirmidhi)

5. Getting your minor signs forgiven on Friday.

“If a man takes bath on Friday, (or) purifies himself as much as he can with Wudu’, oils his hair, applies whatever perfume available in his house, sets forth for the mosque, does not separate two people (to make a seat for himself), performs Salat what is prescribed for him, remains silent when the Imam speaks, his (minor) sins between that Friday and the following Friday will be forgiven.”
